Facial Rejuvenation and Cosmetic Acupuncture
The typical number of weekly treatment sessions is 10-12 for the facial & cosmetic enhancement course of treatment, with a further commitment for ongoing monthly sessions to help maintain achieved results. Treatments are scheduled for once weekly to ensure continued progress as well as time between treatments for healing, skin rejuvenation, collagen production etc. Although everyone is unique and responds to treatment differently, you should plan on 4-6 treatments before seeing some more significant changes.
For microneedling only- the typical course of treatment is 4-6 sessions, scheduled once monthly. If desired, patients can choose to also do nanoneedling in between microneedling sessions. Following the course of microneedling treatment, sessions are scheduled twice a year to maintain achieved results.
With all Radiance & Renewal program services, factors that contribute to the results timeline and longevity of achieved results include:

Facial Acupuncture, Collagen Induction Therapy (Microneedling), Nanoneedling- What are the differences and similarities?
Both facial acupuncture and microneedling can help increase blood circulation, boost your body’s production of collagen and elastin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and give you brighter, more glowing skin. As with facial acupuncture sessions, when microneedling is done by a licensed acupuncturist, body acupuncture is included to treat underlying root causes.
Facial/ Cosmetic Acupuncture uses small needles on the face, neck and scalp. It can address underlying causes and structural changes that can occur on the face as we age, and treat muscle and fascia, improving facial muscle tone and helping the face appear more lifted. If your goal is to improve sagging in the jowls, neck and eyelids facial acupuncture is preferable. Facial acupuncture is less expensive, is less painful and has no downtime. Treatments are weekly for 10-12 sessions (typically) with monthly maintenance.
Microneedling can be performed on face, neck, scalp, stomach, thighs, and arms and can help with hair regrowth on the scalp and eyebrows. Microneedling is preferable for skin level issues such as pigmentation/melasma/dark spots, scarring from acne, enlarged pores and deeper wrinkles. In addition, it can help absorption of serums and other skin care products by 1000%. Results can be longer lasting. Treatment sessions are briefer, are once monthly for 4-6 sessions (typically) with maintenance twice a year. It is more expensive, can be more painful requiring a numbing cream prior to treatment and does not include Cupping, Guasha, or Lymphatic drainage. It also requires more after care such as no exercise (sweating) or makeup for 24-48 hours, no Retin A products for 10-14 days post treatment or 10 days prior to each treatment.
Nanoneedling does not require numbing cream as it is much less invasive than microneedling and has no downtime. It can be used on lips, around the lip/mouth area and under eyes. Nanoneedling can improve absorption of skin care products by up to 97% and help give skin a glowing appearance more swiftly.
What advanced training does Dr. Kolgin have for Facial Enhancement/Cosmetic Acupuncture?
Dr. Kolgin, DAIH completed an in depth certification program from Pacific College and Health Sciences. Her advanced certificate in Facial Applications for Cosmetic Enhancement (F.A.C.E.) included intensive clinical mentorship and training with internationally renowned leaders in the cosmetic acupuncture industry: Dr. Shellie Goldstein, Dr. Carrie Hart, Michelle Gellis and Mary Elizabeth Wakefield. Additional training included international expert in face reading and facial diagnosis, Deirdre Courtney and Matt Callison, LAc, with 25 years of experience in Motor Point and Sports Medicine treatment.
The comprehensive certificate program was a blend of theory and practice with functional medicine and traditional Chinese medicine as applied to facial anatomy and pathophysiology, aging, facial changes and aesthetics. As part of her extensive cosmetic acupuncture training, Dr. Kolgin completed and presented a 10 week patient case study.

If you try one of our diverse facial rejuvenation sessions or services and pay the individual session fee, and decide to purchase a package, the fee paid for the individual session will be credited toward the package price. Additionally, that session will be counted as the first of the total number of sessions included in the package.
The decision to purchase a package must align with the recommended timeline for the package sessions. For example, if a package service comprises 10 weekly sessions, the decision to purchase the package and schedule the next session must occur within the same week. Similarly, if the package service recommends monthly sessions, the decision to purchase the package and schedule the next appointment must be within the month. This adherence to the recommended timeline is crucial because each service has a ‘Recommended Initial Course of Treatment’, with each session building on the next to achieve optimal results.
