PARENT SUPPORT
What is the RECHARGE & RESPOND© PROGRAM?
The acupuncture support sessions we provide for new and new again parents, and caregivers, are focused on reducing overall stress, replenishing the depletion/fatigue that may accompany shifted meals/sleep schedules etc., and promoting overall wellness.
We welcome all families- New and new again parents, kinship caregivers, foster and adoptive parents. We know that adding a child or children into your home can be fabulous, incredible, and rewarding- but it can also be overwhelming, stressful and exhausting… Above all, through the Recharge & Respond© Program, we are here to offer gentle support to help you and your children thrive!
Even if you are not feeling overwhelmed, but are interested in learning natural, gentle, and holistic strategies to help support your child’s/children’s health symptoms and improve their overall health and wellness, this program is for you.
With the Recharge & Respond Program, not only do we help support and boost the parent(s)’/ caregiver(s)’ own physical and emotional symptoms, but we also teach acupressure point and meridian massage techniques that can help parents address some of the physical and emotional symptoms that may be impacting their child (for example: abdominal distress/gas, colic, sleep concerns, allergies, etc).
The typical number of treatment sessions is 4-12 depending on pregnancy/adoption/foster/kinship process, the health of the parent(s)/caregiver(s) and child(ren). Therefore, we will discuss the recommended course and frequency of sessions with you at the initial session.

Pediatric Acupuncture
We provide holistic, gentle support for the whole family.
Is acupuncture safe for children?
Yes, acupuncture is an extremely safe, all natural, drug-free therapy to improve health and enhance wellness in children. In some instances, children respond much more quickly than adults. Parents remain in the treatment room during the sessions and are encouraged to learn strategies for at home maintenance. We typically schedule children’s treatment sessions for thirty minutes.
Will the practitioner use needles with my child?
Each child is unique. Although many children have no difficulty with the use of these very fine, tiny needles, we will discuss and factor in the comfort levels of parent and child, age, physical condition, sensitivities, prior experiences with vaccines or other injections, etc. Consequently, alternative methods for treatment and stimulation of the acupuncture points can be used, for example: acupressure, massage, lasers or Japanese teishin (non-insertive, contact tools). Your practitioner will discuss options with you prior to each treatment.
“If I were going to talk to another kid about acupuncture, I would say that the needles are so thin that you can barely even see them, and they don’t hurt at all. I’m always super relaxed after, even if I show up really stressed out from my day.” 12 yr old boy
