For acupuncture, many see shifts in 3–5 sessions, with full results after a series of 8–12. Microneedling is typically done in a series of 3–6 treatments spaced several weeks apart.
Cosmetic acupuncture is very relaxing. Microneedling can cause mild discomfort, so we use numbing cream to ensure you remain comfortable throughout the process.

Acupuncture has no downtime. Microneedling may cause mild redness (similar to a sunburn) for 1–3 days. We provide detailed aftercare to support your healing.
These treatments may not be a fit during pregnancy or for those with active skin infections, certain bleeding disorders or scarring conditions that include forming keloids. We review your health history thoroughly before beginning.
What advanced training does Dr. Kolgin have for Facial Enhancement/Cosmetic Acupuncture?
Dr. Kolgin, DAIH completed an in depth certification program from Pacific College and Health Sciences. Her advanced certificate in Facial Applications for Cosmetic Enhancement (F.A.C.E.) included intensive clinical mentorship and training with internationally renowned leaders in the cosmetic acupuncture industry: Dr. Shellie Goldstein, Dr. Carrie Hart, Michelle Gellis and Mary Elizabeth Wakefield. Additional training included international expert in face reading and facial diagnosis, Deirdre Courtney and Matt Callison, LAc, with 25 years of experience in Motor Point and Sports Medicine treatment.
The comprehensive certificate program was a blend of theory and practice with functional medicine and traditional Chinese medicine as applied to facial anatomy and pathophysiology, aging, facial changes and aesthetics. As part of her extensive cosmetic acupuncture training, Dr. Kolgin completed and presented a 10 week patient case study.
