Resilience & Hope’s Dr. Andrea Kolgin Joins
Acupuncturists Without Borders World Health Exchange in Greece
We are pleased to share that Dr. Andrea Kolgin, Doctor of Acupuncture & Integrative Health, recently participated in the Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB) World Health Exchange Trip to Greece this spring. This volunteer service aligns strongly with Resilience & Hope’s mission to foster hope, resilience, and optimal well-being through collaborative partnerships and empowerment, particularly for individuals and organizations facing challenging circumstances.
Dr. Kolgin found the experience deeply impactful, working alongside dedicated healers and supporters also volunteering with AWB.
During the trip, Dr. Kolgin collaborated with five distinct organizations in Greece, each committed to supporting refugees. These organizations, while varied in their missions and approaches, shared a unifying dedication to providing aid and hope. The passion and commitment of the volunteers and supporters at these organizations were truly inspiring, emphasizing the importance of compassion and support in difficult times.
These organizations included: Alma Community Holistic Therapies, which focuses on healing trauma and building resiliency; Van aba Afrika, a group aiming to open a cultural center in Athens for African refugees to share stories and foster community; The Melissa Network, which supports migrant women in Greece through empowerment and integration programs; Safe Place Greece, dedicated to empowering LGBTQI+ refugees through community-driven projects; and Love Without Borders, which empowers refugees through art, aid, and global exhibitions.
